Wrap It Up

Christmas Eve at my in-laws has become one of my favorite days of the year.  Everyone brings and appetizer or dessert of some sort and this is the one night of the year I get to steal ALL the recipes.  The best part about it is that my in-laws live up north & I'm here in Texas, so I can always claim that these recipes are my very own :)  Adam's aunt made these one year and I about FELL.OUT!  They are SOOOOO good!!!!  One of our friends ALWAYS requests these at our get-togethers and they are always the first appetizer to be gone!!!  A little time consuming to prepare, but WELL WORTH it!!!

BACON WRAPPED WEENIES

1 pkg bacon {any brand...I use Bar S}

2 pkgs Lil' Beef Smokies

Butter

Brown Sugar

Cut the bacon into fourths {I cut a whole piece of bacon vertically…right down the middle… and then I cut those halves horizontally.  Does that make sense??}  Take each piece of back and wrap it around the lil beef smokies.  You can place them pretty close together on the baking sheet and it'll make a whole lot.  You wanna make sure your baking sheet has edges because there's a lot of mess goin' on with this recipe.  Take about a half stick of butter and melt in microwave.  Pour evenly over the weenies.  Take 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar and put on top of each weenie.

Bake on 375 for about 45 minutes or until the bacon is cooked.

These little guys get eaten up FAST, so make sure you get a sample before anyone else!!!

  1. I make these all the time for football games. I've never used the butter on them though and I secure each one with a toothpick, one to keep the bacon in place but two it makes them easier to eat too!
