An Appetizer With A Kick!

I don't know if I do Daddy's sausage balls any justice, but I LOVE his version of the Bisquick classic.  Daddy likes things spiced up...everything he makes has a "kick" to it!  In my opinion, his sausage balls are the best!!!  I'm pretty sure I've screwed up this recipe BIG TIME, but here's my version...

DADDY’S SPICED UP SAUSAGE BALLS

2lbs. Jimmy Dean HOT sausage

3-3 1/2 cups Bisquick

1-2 jalapenos {you can de-seed it if it's too much!!}

1/2 large onion

3 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Tony Chachere's {to taste}

Take the jalapeno & onion & chop it up in your food processor.  In a separate bowl, combine sausage, Bisquick, & cheese.  Add in the onion/jalapeno mix {not only does it add flavor, but it helps the sausage/bisquick/cheese mixture to "stick" together.} Mix all ingredients together by hand and once it's well blended, add the Tony's seasoning.

Y'all, if you're not a fan of Tony's I'm sad for you.  Yeah, this stuff definitely packs a punch, so add to your discretion.  I usually just pour it in and then blend, and sometimes I pour a little more again just to top it off.  Like I said, these bad boys have a kick.  The more Tony's you add, the spicier it will be :)  YUM!

  1. I don't think you "screwed" it up, you just added onion which I don't. Sounds great though. Also, I prefer to melt my cheese in a double boiler and then fold/knead into the sausage/Bisquick mixture. The melted cheese step really changes the whole texture and taste. Wow! Y'all really put on a spread. Good job.
