A Maggiano’s Copycat

One of my FAVORITE restaurants is Maggiano’s.  Love that place.  There’s not a single thing I’ve eaten there that I haven’t just loved…especially their cheesecake.  Hands down, the best cheesecake EVER!!!  But that’s not what this post is about.  There’s a savory dish at Maggiano’s that keeps me comin’ back for more…the Fettuccine Alfredo with Broccoli.  OMG…uh-MAZING!  And for some reason, no one seems to bottle up the flavor of the restaurant-made alfredo sauce. The store bought just isn’t right! Now that I’ve made this recipe, I’ll never use the store bought version again!  Get ready to feel like you’re dining at Maggiano’s because I swear this recipe is *almost* just as good!  Enjoy!

FETTUCCINE ALFREDO WITH BROCCOLI

1 pkg {24 oz.} fettuccine

1 cup butter

1 dash garlic salt

3/4 pint of heavy cream {use 3/4 of the pint…hope that makes sense!}

3/4 cup grated Romano cheese

1/2  cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 bag frozen broccoli, cooked

Salt & pepper {to taste}

Cook fettuccine according to package.  Meanwhile in a large saucepan, melt butter into cream over high heat.  I cut my butter into chunks so it would melt faster :)

Once the butter has melted evenly, add salt, pepper, and garlic salt to taste.  Slowly stir in cheese until melted to thicken the sauce.  I went the cheap route and got the two-in-one grated cheese using the same measurements.

I’m sure the sauce would’ve been even better with fresh parmesan and romano, but y’all…this was still DANG good!!!!    As the sauce thickens, add the {cooked} broccoli and stir until evenly coated.  Drain fettuccine and add the sauce & broccoli mix.  Stir well until fettuccine is coated.  Serve & enjoy!

Seriously you guys…you gotta give this a try!  Especially if you’re a fan of alfredo :)  I’m honestly not the biggest fan…I prefer marinara…but this is definitely a meal that will make MANY more appearances at our dinner table.  And I LOVE the broccoli addition :)  I’m a HUGE fan of broccoli, as weird as that sounds, and this dish really reminds me of my Maggiano’s favorite!!!!  If you’re not a fan of little green trees, leave ‘em out and enjoy it plain…you’ll love it no matter what!
