If You Like Pina Coladas…

Then I’m pretty sure you’ll LOVE this!  I have been CRAVING all things coconut lately.  When I found this drink recipe in a magazine, I rushed to the store to pick up the ingredients.  In my opinion, this kinda cocktail and summer goes hand-in-hand.  Okay, so the original recipe involved NO liquor whatsoever, but I figured ‘what the heck’…let’s toss it in there and see how it tastes.  And OMG…SO glad I did :)  My favorite deck drink to date!

PINA COLADA SLUSH

3 {6 oz.} cans pineapple juice

2 cups water

1 {10 oz} can frozen pina colada drink mix {I used Bacardi}

1 tbsp. lime juice

1 tub powder lemonade drink mix {like Country Time…I used generic Wal Mart brand}

Sprite or 7Up

Coconut flavored Rum, to taste {I used Malibu}

pinacoladaslush1 In a large pitcher, combine pineapple juice, water, pina colada mix, lime juice, and lemonade.  Stir until well dissolved.  Transfer to freezer and let it set for 6 hours or overnight.  Remove from freezer 45 minutes prior to serving.  OR, you could just pop it in the fridge and drink it with no slushiness :)

For each serving, combine half of the slush mix with half Sprite/7UP.  You can drink it just like that OR spice it up and top it off with some coconut flavored rum!!  Whatever your little summer lovin’ heart desires :)  If you like Pina Coladas, put this on your summer drink list for sure!  You’ll be happy you did!

  1. Does anybody know if you are suppose to make the lemon aid or just use the powder? And are you suppose to use the whole tub? Seems like a lot so I thought I would ask first. Thanks
