2 Drinks In 1

I’ve been neglecting the “Happy Hour” part of this blog for FAR too long. We had a little Mexican themed dinner the other night and I decided to try a new drink to accompany our meal…and it was GOOD!  If you like beer…and margaritas…then you’re in for a treat!

BEER MARGARITAS

4 12oz. beers {I used Corona…mmmmmmm}

1 cup of tequila {I used Margaritaville Tequila Silver…it was all we had on hand!}

1 can of frozen limeade, thawed {I used Minute Maid}

Limes

Coarse salt {kosher}

Empty 4 beers into a large pitcher.  I used Corona because the ingredients in this recipe sorta lend themselves to Mexican beer, and Corona has the best commercials so it won out ;)

Add a cup of tequila and a can of frozen limeade.  Stir until well mixed!

Squeeze fresh lime juice onto a plate & kosher salt on a different plate.  You’ll use the lime juice to wet the rim of your glass & then dip it into the salt :)

Fill your glass with ice and top with the beer margarita.  Garnish with a lime wedge.

I know this concoction sounds a little crazy, but it’s SO good!  Give it a shot next weekend and see for yourself!!!

  1. We've always called them "Beer-garitas!" And, they are surprisingly good!!! And, beer is cheaper than taquila, right!? :)

  2. Oh my gosh, this does sound really crazy but I'm going to have to give it a try! We are opening our pool soon and this would be a great poolside drink! Enjoy the rest of your weekend ~andrea

  3. We used to drink these all the time, but would mix them in a blender. Thanks for the reminder!

  4. This is so tacky and I won't be offended if you delete the comment, but my friends and I always call these "Hop, Skip, and go Nekid's"! So delicious... but we always blend it in the blender so it's "frozen"!

  5. A bar in Manhattan, KS (home of Kansas State Wildcats and Aggieville) make this with lemonade, vodka and beer and they are called Summer Beers. Can't wait to try this version!

  6. These are HUGE in Austin! At any of the Tex-Mex restaurants you can order a "Beer-garita" and its served in a large margarita mug with an upside down beer. Delish on a hot day (or any day for that matter)
