What the Teacher Wore Wednesday: The Floral Edition

It's Wednesday, so I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday :)

I actually got dressed this week.  Shocking considering I've been glued to the computer trying to knock out a couple of presentations.  I always wait 'til the last minute to work on them.  Between that and planning our little Halloween party this weekend and my sister's baby sprinkle next weekend, I haven't really gotten out of the house very much.

I went to a baby shower for my sister this past weekend at the cutest little Italian restaurant.  It was raining  like crazy.  I should've worn a poncho and some rain boots and called it a day.  Instead, I threw on this fun little floral blazer and some jeans.  Perfect for celebrating my sister and soon-to-arrive niece :)  I really loved the white tee paired with the blazer.  The high school girl in me still loves American Eagle and they carry a brand called Don't Ask Why that makes the softest tees.  LOVE this one.

In other news, isn't my sister just the cutest thing?!  She looks ridiculously amazing at 35 weeks!!  I was as big as a whale.  Like gained 58 pounds big.  The most amazing 58 pounds ever.  Cheese fries and ice cream ALL.DAY.LONG.  My sister, however, has so much more restraint than I do.  And she's the most amazing mom already.  I can't wait to see her with a little girl :)

Statement Necklace:  Walmart (last year)
White Shirt:  American Eagle (THIS is the shirt, but it looks sold out in white;  THIS ONE is the same tee in a dolman version)

I'm completely in love with this floral crew neck I scored from Flaunt Boutique.  I'm pretty sure this will be my go-to travel top.  It can be dressed up a little with boots/booties, but it looks really cute with my converse shorelines, too :)  And it's really, really comfy.  I was worried the colors would be dull and faded, but I was happily surprised when I opened my package.  It really is just perfect!  And I love those colors paired with the gray.

I guess I had a thing for florals last week.  I know this is more of a "spring" top, but it's still warm(ish) here so I wasn't too concerned throwing it on.  The weather has started to cool down just a bit and I'm looking forward to long sleeves and boots...because that's what basic girls like me enjoy wearing :)

Top:  Forever 21, a couple of years ago

In other news, I'm currently doing the most amazing bible study.  It's called "He Is" and it's written by Carrie Rogers.  I did one of her studies with my girlfriends when I lived in Dallas...The Wardrobe of Christ...and knew this one would be just as good.  And let me tell you...it does NOT disappoint!  I'm in my 3rd week of the study right now and loving every little bit of it.  This study is all about knowing God by name...ALL of them :)  I'm doing this study with a great group of girls and loving our weekly discussions and reflections.  If you're looking for a bible study I'd love to recommend this one!!!

Happy Wednesday!

  1. After seeing your Instagram post about the He Is Bible study last week I bought the book that day and I'm in LOVE. Such a blessing to read each day. Thank you so much for sharing!
