My FAVORITE thing to eat when I visit Mr. Spouse’s family in Indiana is Taco Pizza from Pizza Hut! It’s absolutely MANDATORY that we stop in for a few slices every time we go back home. The first time I saw it I was all, “Ewwww…gross”. I mean, who eats crushed Doritos on their pizza?! BUT, I’m definitely NOT picky when it comes to food, so I took a bite and FELL.IN.LOVE. Now, for whatever reason, Pizza Hut does NOT carry Taco Pizza anywhere here in town. Like, I don’t even know if they serve it anywhere in Texas!! SO, I decided to make my own version of Taco Pizza because waiting 6 months in between servings is just TOO.LONG! I think Pizza Hut needs to give me a call!!!
WANNABE TACO PIZZA
1 premade pizza crust {I use Boboli}
1 lb. ground beef
1 pkg. taco seasoning {I use McCormick’s}
1 can refriend beans {I use Gebhardt}
2 cups shredded cheese {I use the 4 cheese Mexican style cheese}
Shredded lettuce
Chopped tomatoes
Chopped red onions
Crushed Doritos
Brown meat, drain, & add taco seasoning. Cook according to package.
While meat is simmering, spread refried beans on top of the pizza crust. You can add as little or as much as you want. I usually use the whole can because I love the flavor it adds :)
Pour meat on top of refried beans,
…and top with cheese.
Now bake pizza according to the package {of the pizza crust :)}. It usually takes between 8-10 minutes…longer if you like a crispier crust, but the cheese gets a little icky.
Now add the lettuce & tomato.
And here comes the cherry on top of the cake. Crushed Dorito’s. Yep. I said it. It SERIOUSLY makes the pizza!!!! I swear it’s GOOD!!! Don’t knock it ‘til ya try it!!! PROMISE you’ll LOVE it!!!!
Now cut yourself a few slices and fall in love :) When we eat this at Pizza Hut, we usually eat it with ranch, so get yourself a side of ranch too! I’m not a fan of store bought Ranch dressing AT.ALL, so I usually eat it just the way it is and it still tastes amazing!!! I hope you love it!
OMG babesss i think i luff yew xx i luff pizza! :)
