When I saw this recipe on the Pioneer Woman, I knew we couldn’t pass it up. Nothin’ says a good meal like 2 sticks of butter. Yes friends, if you’re looking for a low-fat meal, veer away from this page immediately. Healthy this is not. But oh.my.lawd. This is DANG good! I think I had a popcorn lunch the day I served this up for dinner because I knew I’d need to reserve the calories. This is definitely a manly meal and Mr. Spouse LOVED it! I thought it was pretty dang good too!! So if you’re lookin’ for a meal that’s sure to add another notch on the love handles, look no further ;)
THE PIONEER WOMAN’S MARLBORO MAN SANDWICH
1 large {or 2 small} onions
2 sticks of butter :)
2-3 lbs. cube steak (I think I only used 1 1/2 lbs.}
Lawry’s seasoned salt
1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
Tobasco sauce, to taste
Deli Rolls {the PW suggests Earthgrains Deli Rolls…I used Sara Lee hoagies}
Slice the onions and cook in 1/4 stick of butter. Cook until soft and light brown.
Slice the cube steak against the grain & season with Lawry’s.
In the same skillet as the onions were cooked, melt 2 tbsp. butter & add meat in a single layer. Cook on one side for about a minute {or until brown} and flip to the other side.
Add worcestershire, tobasco, and 2 tsbp. butter.
Add onion slices and stir to combine.
Butter the outside and insides of the dinner rolls and brown in a skillet. This is the KEY to a YUM sandwich!!
Now to assemble your sandwich…
place the meat mixture on the roll and spoon some of the juice right over that. Top with the other half of the roll and…in the words of the Pioneer Woman…DEVOUR!!!!
DElicious and fattening :) Just the way a MANLY sandwich should be!!!!!
YUM!!!!!
Oh hell yes! The only thing missing is some shredded cheese and my open mouth. Good job, babe!
